15 in 5: A Different Kind of License

1 Thessalonians 2:8
8 So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us.

Think back to the day that you earned your driver’s license. Oh, what a day that was! Your heart was jumping with joy, unspeakable joy. You waited what felt like eternity to finally turn of age to walk into the state driver’s license office and pass your test. The moment is one that ranks right up there at the top. You were legal, with a valid state driver license in your hand. The state trusted you based on your proven knowledge, skill and evidence of the mandatory requirements to obtain your license. The keys to your freedom and your Ford, Chevy, Toyota, Suzuki, or whatever type of make and model you drove was in your hand. You were legally entrusted to drive within the limits of the law anywhere your heart desired.

God has given you the “keys” to be a spiritual leader at home, work and in the church and make a spiritual impact. You have been entrusted with the Gospel – your license to make an IMPACT and to Be the One. Jesus has entrusted you with the task of going out into the world and sharing the Gospel. Be a witness. Get in your vehicle and drive! Some may stay local and others may take a long road trip. You are to deliver His message through your life, your actions, your speech, your family… in all you do and everywhere you go.

When you are entrusted with something, it isn’t yours to use as you like. The person who has been entrusted cannot merely do whatever he likes, but instead has a job to do, with accountability. If the trust has been violated your license can be revoked. A big task has been entrusted to us, so we must be intentional about how we live our lives in order to get to the end and hear God say “Well done, you have succeeded with the task entrusted to you.”

Don’t compartmentalize God. God wants to show up and show out through you and in you. Many people are religious but they are not spiritual. When you take possession of the “keys” that have been entrusted to you, you will begin to see the profound spiritual impact that you have on people. As you continue to steer forward in faith and obedience, you will drive into bigger victories than any human can comprehend.

Prayer Points:
·    Praise God for His goodness, mercy and unconditional love
·    Thank Him for the gifts, talents and abilities He has given you
·    Ask God to enable your gifts to effectively carry out His mission in the world
·    Pray that others see Jesus through your life
