15 in 5: No More Snoozing

1 Thessalonians 2:11
11 For you know how, like a father with his children

In the hustle and bustle of life how many mornings have you woken to the sound of a nagging alarm clock and unconsciously stretch your arm out to feel around for the snooze button?  In your mind, those extra few minutes of sleep feel so good. In actuality, hitting the snooze button hinders you more than it will ever help you. Before you know it, you’re rushing yourself out the door saying, “I owe… I owe… off to work I must go.”

Many of us have fallen asleep spiritually; many churches are asleep. You work, perform your expected house duties, show up to church on Sundays, and then go through the mundane Monday through Friday routine all over again. You do exactly what is expected of you to keep you going while also keeping the family on track. People, possibly you, have fallen into the routine of life and it’s easier to hit the snooze button than to wake up and rise to your calling. It’s a vicious cycle that seems difficult to break.

There is a battle being waged in our homes and society. A battle for the souls, especially those of women, children and young men, has been waging while you’ve been hitting the snooze button. It’s time to wake up. God is calling for men to take up arms to protect their families from the assaults of the enemy. Like Paul, seek out Godly warrior companions who will encourage your warrior mentality and spirituality. It’s imperative to use your spiritual weapons, intercessory prayer, bible study and strong faith. It’s time to overcome the negative criticism and defend yourself for your good just as Paul did. Don’t become discouraged in your good works. It’s time to wake up out of a deep or groggy sleep and “Be the One” God intends for you to be; IMPACT THE WORLD!

Prayer Points:
·    Thank God for helping you become a son/daughter after Christ’s own heart
·    Ask Him to help you to look past any risk, soften your heart, and fill you with peace
·    Pray for transformation in the areas that need attention in your life
·    Ask God to show you how you can impact the world, starting with your neighborhood
